S.P.A.R.K.

Supportive Parents Advocating for ouR Kids

Our mission, rooted in love and hope, is independent living for adults with special challenges.

These lifelong Denville residents are active members of our community, dedicated to personal service and proudly volunteering at nearly all of Denville’s local events. S.P.A.R.K. families strongly believe in giving back to the only support system, home, and community they have ever known and love. Their success in transitioning into adulthood can be attributed, in part, to Denville’s Mayor's Council for People with Challenges. MCPC encourages these exceptional young people to become active participants who serve their community and, in turn, teaches others true acceptance of these residents. This partnership has helped S.P.A.R.K. to partner with local organizations and businesses that are dedicated to encouraging their participation in township events, facilitating the community residents' participation in these opportunities, and creating volunteer or employment opportunities for these residents.

The families of these young men, along with the community members working with S.P.A.R.K., are dedicated to the long-term goal of independent Denville living and all it will require: name and organization recognition, ongoing fundraising, purchasing or building a residence, securing local businesses to assist with construction, ongoing maintenance requirements, and planning for the managing of recurring housing costs. It is our dream to be able to provide these young people with a safe home with the only friends they have ever had, in Denville, the community in which they are valued. Our vision is to provide a safe haven for adults with challenges to live, and to gather for activities, entertainment, support, friendship, and care.
